Who would have thought i'd be a health nut of...
I think my health classes are out to get me. I am eating yogurt on a daily basis. I buy fruit and vegetables and eat them fresh. I cut down on my meat (most significant change as I am proudly a carnivore) and been eating less rice. Of course, the usual 2 glasses of milk.
And of course, working out with my yellow cross-trainers. Lately, i’m at 134, lost 11 pounds and am at 22% body fat....
Blogging throughout the years
In the era of social media, networking sites are a thing I’ve made sure to delete once I left the site. However, I’ve just realized that four of my previous blogs are still up and running, and getting visitors still apparently sans updates. Due to possibly a large amount of stress, I checked my past blogs during the long weekend and found out how different things used to be back...

Girl, you know what?
A lady at the center and I were talking earlier and she mentioned something really meaningful.. ” Girl you know what? If I can share something that will hopefully stick with you, it’s this… Always ask God to prepare your heart for the good things in life, those blessings that you will get someday, a family, husband, kids, job, etc. The world already prepares you for so much...

Let me be a woman - Elisabeth Elliot
This book written by Elisabeth Elliot says it perfectly, “In order to know what it means to be a woman, we must first start with the One that made her”. I was lucky enough to buy this book aboard the MV Doulos which is the world’s floating bookstore manned by volunteers when it docked in Manila. It is a book written to her daughter, Valerie before she got married. It talks...
Did You Marry the Wrong Person?

A little while ago Stephen Altrogge wrote a small article he titled So You Think You’ve Married the Wrong Person and today I would like to add one thing to the discussion. Stephen’s article addresses an always-pertinent topic. It is a topic that is applicable to married folk who may one day wake up and wonder, Did I marry the wrong person?...

The funny coincidences in Life
+ I get these little devotions on my email which I started subscribing to when I was working. I read the bible in the morning when I wake up but in the afternoon, its nice to read something to just recharge me before I go out with friends or hang out with my parents. It’s funny how coincidences happen, sometimes it makes you really feel like there’s so method to all these madness....

Wisdom from Lola's Lap
I grew up in a compound that had three houses near each other. There were distances between the houses but it was easily accessible. I would get so used to always ‘hop over’ the fence and visit my lola next door and disturb her filipino telenovela marathons.
During one of our many conversations, she told me that I should learn how to look at how a person carries himself/herself and...

A lot of stuff going on right now, but things are getting into their nice mix. =) I did my first circle with the children today and did not expect such a reaction from them. There was a lot of excitement on seeing all different paintbrushes and after a while, some tantrums because of not having enough time wiht the easel, etc. So definitely will need to adjust to that (O.o) It was fun though, it...

Filipino Style Pesto - September...
Our month’s secret ingredient turned out to be basil, and what can one usually make with basil but pesto. I decided to infuse some Filipino ingredients to an otherwise Italian recipe.
Ingredients that you need are the following:
2 cups chopped fresh basil leaves
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 cup adobo-style peanuts (filipino store) or skinless, roasted peanuts from any store
1/2 cup olive...

TRUE LOVE
“The Motive of True Love”
Most of the people who say they love you may just be tolerating you. The rest of them probably have ulterior motives. As humans, we do things for others so that we can get things done for us. If it is one thing that the world needs now is a big dose of genuine love.
As numerous scholars have researched and discussed, the Greeks have identified four kinds...
While driving yesterday afternoon and looking at the hills and the sun, I realized that throughout life we pass through several stages of thinking…
When we start doubting God and blaming Him, it is our faith that is being tested and molded and made right. Our view of reality can be changed that we don’t just think of earthly concerns but include a spiritual reality that most people...

Take me out to the ball game!
Yesterday marked my second live baseball game in America. It was the giants versus the dodgers and the weather was perfect. It started off with one rushing woman who was driving fast on the freeway so that she wouldn’t be late. I had a few late pick-ups at the preschool I worked at as well as a huge outdoor umbrella which chooses to consistently torment me with it’s stubbornness. I...

Wine bottles! :)
During my birthday this year, my boyfriend took me to MOMA and there was a wine exhibit. I’m no wine connoisseur and I honestly have to look at the label to see the most subtle of flavors (only pick up strong scents and flavor), but they had this huge display of wine bottles and cool wine label art. So, I was grocery shopping today and I just had to drop by the wine aisle (as i always do)...
