Book Review: Unveiling the Kings of Israel

When I was younger, I loved reading through the Old Testament because I found it very rich in archaeological history. Imagine the surprise I receive upon receiving an opportunity to review “Unveiling the Kings of Israel” took me on a very happy trip to the times of the Bible side by side with Scriptural accounts and archaeological evidence. It features twenty chapters that are rich in text and photographs that illustrate certain settings. Each chapter also starts with an introduction that provides the reader with a context of the event or timeframe that is involved. This book is an exceptional way of proving that human fields of studies in history, archaeology, sociology (etc.) do support biblical accounts. Reading this book does increase my appreciation for the Bible and increases my interest in traveling to the places in the book. This book is a good supplementary material for those who are very interested in seeing the history of the Bible, the culture and the historical context of several key events in the lives of some Christian characters that we’ve read so much about in Scripture. I love how reader-friendly this book is and how wonderfully organized the facts are presented. I highly recommend it!

I received a free copy of this book from New Leaf Publishers in exchange for a review. I was not asked to write a positive review in exchange for a copy, but choose to write a review that is constructive, honest and helpful to other consumers.
